His film, Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, was an official selection at the 2008 Sundance, San Francisco, and Los Angeles Film Festivals. His latest Sundance feature was Casino Jack and the United States of Money, an expose of disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff opened in theaters nationwide earlier this year.
Alex was also a featured director in the Fall 2008 Director's Issue of Shoot Magazine, and scored a hat trick at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival, which featured three of his latest projects, feature film My Trip to Al Qaeda, "Sumo," a section of the blockbuster ensemble documentary Freakonomics, and ‘the hottest ticket of the festival,' Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer.
