Allison developed a strong passion for film at The University of Wisconsin Madison, where she majored in Anthropology with a strong focus on ethnographic documentary filmmaking. Following university, she and her future husband spent over a year hitchhiking through northern Africa and Europe. Upon her return, she joined Spots Films in New York, where she and future partner Lisa Mehling became friends. Her passion for filmmaking landed her in Los Angeles during the mid-‘90s, during which time she worked as a Head of Production at the now shuttered Palomar Pictures. At the close of the decade, Allison joined Chelsea and opened their Los Angeles branch. She and Lisa Mehling became co-owners in 2001. Allison’s myriad experience, unwavering creative ethos and knack for the intricacies of production is evidenced in Chelsea's culture.
Lisa Mehling has been immersed in the world of advertising ever since discovering the work of David Ogilvy in college. Starting on the agency side in print, then moving to broadcast production, with a few stints as a PA, Lisa ended up joining Spots Films, whose roster at the time was comprised of many of the industry’s most exciting new talents. It was there that Lisa’s instinct for discovering and representing directors combined with her love of advertising, and helped her build a reputation as someone who fostered talent while consistently offering creative solutions for agencies and their clients. As co-owner of Chelsea since 2001, Lisa’s passion for filmmaking and her directors has helped evolve Chelsea into one of the world’s leading production resources, where creative expression and superlative production are at the foundation of all that we do.
